Russell Harris
With some 20 Broadcast TV series under his belt, Russell is a presenter driven by passion, whose knowledge, infectious enthusiasm, self-deprecation and humour, connects with audiences worldwide. Versatile enough to tackle any task thrown his way, Russell brings an intelligently fresh perspective to a subject, using the full force of his personality to illuminate the moment.
There are many strings to Russell’s bow: he is an award-winning producer, a radio presenter, an artist, a successful designer, and a serial property developer. Russell’s passions and interests are varied. He counts mountain-biking, sailing, golf, and tennis as serious hobbies. He has presented everything, from programmes on Art and Antiques for BBC 2, to The Great Outdoors for Channel 4. In addition, Russell has never been frightened of being thrust into unchartered territory, producing and presenting recorded and live broadcasts from 20,000 feet up on Makalu, the world’s fifth highest mountain, for BBC1.
Russell is passionate about architecture and design. He has presented everything from Room for Improvement for BBC 1 to These Four Walls for the Discovery Channel. Russell has developed more properties than you can shake a stick at, recently developing and project managing a multi award-winning, thoroughly modern concept home for himself and his family. The project attracted huge media attention and the highs and lows were chronicled for UKTV in a 15-part series called Seven Year Makeover which Russell produced and presented. Russell is currently planning his next project. He recently presented two series of I own Britain’s best Home for Five.
Russell has been travelling for as long as he can remember. Whilst proudly born in Yorkshire, Russell grew up in West Africa and has been travelling ever since. It comes as no surprise then, that Russell is probably best known for creating the cult travel show, The Diceman. Four series of which he produced and presented for the Discovery Channel and which have been seen in over 60 countries worldwide. In The Diceman, Russell travels randomly over several continents using only his inimitable charisma, his ability to charm the general public and an ordinary green dice.
Russell has over 300 hours of live TV to his credit. He has the ability to think on his feet, grasp the salient points of a story and with effortless professionalism introduce appropriate wit and wisdom from his unique perspective. His reputation for professionalism is also demonstrated by the list of blue-chip clients for whom he has produced and presented business television, corporate videos and seminars for. He recently won a coveted RIBA Award for his development of Lymm Water Tower, to add to the two Sony Radio Awards on his mantelpiece.
